What Changes the Price

Most repairs come in at or near the starting price. What moves it is scope. For springs, it is whether one or two springs are replaced, the size and weight of the door, and whether high-cycle springs make sense. For openers, it is which part failed and whether parts for your model are still made. For new doors, it is size, insulation, style, windows and whether the opening needs work first.

Older and unusual garages cost a little more to work on. Low-headroom track in a basement garage, a heavy custom wooden door, a door at the bottom of a steep driveway or an opening that is out of square all add time, and we say so in the written quote rather than on the day.

There is no separate trip fee within our service area and no hidden line items. If the scope changes once the door is open, we stop, show you why and let you decide before anything extra is done.

Repair or Replace: How to Decide

Hardware is designed to be replaced. Springs, cables, rollers, hinges and openers will all be replaced at least once over the life of a good door, and replacing them is almost always better value than a new door.

Replacement is worth considering when several sections are damaged, when the bottom of a steel door has rusted through, when a wooden door has rot in more than one section, when the model is discontinued so sections cannot be matched, or when the repairs on the list come to roughly half the price of a new insulated door. In those cases we quote both, side by side.

How Quotes Work

You call or send the form, and we give you a price range on the phone based on what the door is doing. The technician confirms the cause on site with a balance test and an inspection, and you receive the exact price in writing. Once you sign off on that figure, it holds.

If we find a related problem, such as a worn cable next to a broken spring, it is shown to you and priced separately. Approve it now, book it for another day or skip it; nothing extra happens without your yes.

What do replacement garage door springs cost in Seattle?
A single torsion spring starts at $249 and a pair at $349. High-cycle springs start at $399, and an extension-to-torsion conversion at $549.
How much is a new garage door opener installed?
A chain-drive opener installed starts at $549, a belt drive at $649, a smart belt drive with battery backup at $749 and a wall-mount opener at $949.
How much does a new garage door cost installed?
A single-car insulated steel door starts at $1,450 installed and a double-car door at $2,150, including new track, springs, seals and haul-away of the old door.
Do you charge a trip fee?
No. There is no separate trip fee in our service area. The diagnostic visit price covers the trip, the inspection and minor adjustments.
Will you give me a rough price over the phone?
Yes. Call (425) 728-2403 for a range based on what the door is doing and its size. The final price is confirmed in writing after the technician has seen the door.
Why do you weigh the door before replacing springs?
Because springs must match the door's real weight. Doors get heavier over the years with insulation, new sections or replacement, and a spring copied from the old one is often too weak.
